TAIZ-SABA
The Houthi rebel militia's armed invasion of al-Shaqab district in the province of Taiz was so bloody and violent that local women say "our life during the past four years has been unspeakable."

In an interview with the National Commission for Inquiry on human rights abuse claims in the safe part of the area on Sunday, 32 local women said the Houthi militia's abuses have covered the span of these years, in the form of siege around the villages, heavy shelling, landmine explosions, detonation of houses, and direct assault of villagers. The women said the Houthi violence impacted their physical safety and, psychologically, shattered their sense of security. "We can no longer go to Qat farms or have the freedom of mobility we used to have," one woman said.

The Houthi militia has been imposing a siege around the province of Taiz since the beginning of the armed conflict in 2015.
