Minister of Human Rights, Dr. Mohammed Askar, met the UNICEF Protection Officer Fatahiye Omar in Aden on Wednesday and discussed with her the joint coordination toprotect children.
Askarbriefed Omar on the decision of the Cabinet to set up a technical committee to prevent the recruitment of child soldiers and agreement to update the plan signed between the Government and the United Nations in 2014 in this regard, as well as the road map and the mechanisms for implementing this plan.
Askar pointed out that the phenomenon of recruiting child soldiers and their exploitation by the Houthi coupist militia have serious implications on the personality of children and have a direct impact on Yemeni society's present and future.
