Prime Minister inspects emergency measures in Mahra

Prime Minister Dr. Mo'eenAbdulmalik inspected on Thursday emergency measures taken by the local authority in Mahra for helping affected people after the government deposited YR two billion for relief and aid in the province.

In a telephone call he conducted with Governor of MahraRajehba-Kerait on Thursday, Abdulmalik stressed quick implementation of the measures and reconstructing destroyed infrastructure over the tropical storm Luban hit the province last month.

He also stressed significance of absorbing donors' donations via the account opened in the Central Bank of Yemen for helping affected people of Mahra and receiving humanitarian aid and managing them honestly and transparently as well as distributing them on infrastructure projects; roads, water, electricity, education and health, in addition to building houses to people whose houses damaged.

For his part, Governor ba-Kerait praised the move taken by the cabinet's meeting this week for establishing executive unit for tackling damages over the storm. Located in Aden, the unit will work with the local authority of Mahra and will contribute in quick response for reconstructing damages.

He valued efforts of the government for transferring two YR billion as emergent help to the province.
