Deputy speaker of Yemen’s parliament Mohammed al-Shaddadi has said the parliament is set to convene in the temporary capital Aden soon.
In a meeting with the Lebanese ambassador to Yemen here on Tuesday, al-Shaddadi said the MPs support a fair solution for the ongoing conflict as the government and the Yemeni people maintain; a solution based on the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue and the UNSC resolution 2216.
He said that the Yemeni people are united behind the Arab Coalition’s campaign as they counter the Houthi militia’s coup and violence.
He said the Iran-backed militia is putting some fellow MPs under house arrest in the capital Sana’a.
