Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Braik arrived Wednesday in the Emirati capital Abu Dhabi on an official visit in response to an invitation from the leadership of the sisterly United Arab Emirates.

$20 million state's loses due to delay of operating Al-Hisswah Steam Driven Station, says minister

Minister of Electericity and Energy Eng. Abdullah Al-Aqawa' said" Postponement of re-habilitate and operate Al-Hisswah Steam-Driven Station has caused the state's treasury loses estimated at $20 million last year for purchasing energy to make up for the shortage as a result of delaying the operation of Al-Hisswah Station".
His statement came as he paid Wednesday an inspection visit to the work in progress in the project of rehabilitate the plant. The project is funded by the government with total cost $31 million.
The Minister also visited the location designated to establish the new Power Station with total capacity 264 MGW.
