The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Nasser Baoom chaired on Tuesday a meeting with the directors of a number of health departments and programs in his ministry and counterparts from international organizations on the impact of Luban cyclone that hit al-Mahra province last month.
The meeting discussed a report presented by the Ministry's mission sent to al-Mahrato assess the impact of the cyclone on the health facilities.
The report recommended setting upand providing two blood banks, an epidemiological surveillance unit, a quarantine center, a 50-cylinder oxygen plant, ambulances, radiology units and intensive care units.
The meeting also reviewed a number of working papers on the status of malaria and dengue fever in Hadhramout province and interventions of international organizations such as the WHO and UNICEF.
