ADEN-SABA
Minister of Local Authority, the Head of the Supreme Relief Committee, Abdulraqeeb Fatah has called the UN Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator Lisa Grande to exert pressure on Houthi rebel militia to release 51,000 tons of wheat at the warehouses of the World Food Program in Hodeida.
In a press release to Saba on Monday, Fatah said the quantity is enough to more than 3.7 million people, according to statements of the WFP spokesperson.
This act contradicts all international and humanitarian laws and complicates the humanitarian situation and increases suffering of millions of people, holding Houthi militia accountable for doubling suffering of Yemeni people because of their continuous seizure of relief convoys, looting humanitarian aid and hindering activities of international and regional organizations.
He stressed necessity of denouncing Houthi militia's acts of hindering the relief work by the UN and International Community, confirming that silence towards these acts is unacceptable.
