Prime Minister Dr Ma'een Abdulmalik met Monday with US Ambassador to our country Mathew Tuller.
Aspects of bilateral ties and cooperation between the two friendly countries were discussed.
The Prime Minister praised the US administrations' support for the legitimate government, highly appreciating Washington's efforts aiming to end the war and establishing peace that is based on the three terms of reference including the GCC's Initiative, its operational plan, outcomes of National Dialogue and International Security Council resolution no 2216.
Ma'een stated that the government is primarily focusing on managing economic challenges, reinstating basic services and reconstructing what has been damaged by the war. He added that this is to achieved in cooperation with Saudi-Led Arab Coalition and largely backed by the United Arab Emirates.
The Prime Minister voiced his hope of greater support by the US government in this regard given the Washington has long been a key partner of the Yemeni government.
The US Ambassador congratulated Dr Ma'een for being appointed a Prime Minister, wishing him all the best in his mission; reiterating his country's support for the legitimate government against Houthi putschist militia's coup and Yemen's security, stability and unity.
