Republic of Yemen's Ambassador to Washington Dr Ahmed Awadh bin Mubark met with the UN special envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths.
The meeting devoted to discuss the UN's efforts aiming to resume peace consultations that stumbled last month due to Houthis' intransigence and refusal to engage in.
Bin-Mubark reiterated the legitimate government's full support for the UN's underway efforts to put an end of the war triggered by Houthis. He stated that the government has always been aiding any good offices by the UN to put down the coup, restore the state's institutions in accordance with the three terms of reference including the GCC's Initiative, its operational plan, outcomes of the National Dialogue and International Security Council resolution 2216.
Bin-Mubark also stated that the UN envoy ought to persuade the Houthis to comply with the UNSCRs resolutions and the terms of reference agreed on.
He made clear that maintaining military pressures on the putschists is necessary to push peace efforts ahead.
Mr Griffiths stated that he is continuing his good offices to resume peace consultations as soon as possible. He noted that he currently is focusing on trust-building and reviving consultations
