NEW YORK-SABA

Yemeni Government called on the International Security Council to send clear messages to the putschist Houthi group militia that " International Community (IC) can't remain silent about crimes, violations and humanitarian suffering, that the militia leaders should choose sustainable peace or to confront the Yemeni people backed by the IC".

The Republic of Yemen's statement delivered by deputy of Yemen's permanent envoy to the UN Marwan Ali No'aman at the open session of the International Security Council on Tuesday demanded that" International Security Council should work on implementing its resolutions it has taken to help maintaining international peace and security as this is very important to keep its credibility…."

No'ama touched upon the humanitarian crisis in Yemen saying " While we do highly appreciate humanitarian efforts exerted by the IC to mitigate the Yemenis' suffering, we do believe that this human-made torment can't be ended no sustainable solution to it can be attainable except for addressing the grass-roots of the problem in Yemen which is Houthi coup. A solution can be through a comprehensive political settlement based on the three terms of reference: the GCC's Initiative, its operational plan, outcomes of National Dialogue and International Security Council resolutions, namely 2216".

No'aman provided a detailed presentation about the political transitional process Yemen has embarked on since 2012 which thwarted by Iran-backed Houthi putschist militia coup on September 2014. He cited the militias' atrocities, violations, reckless policies and intransigence.
