Yemen seeks JICA support for rehabilitating judiciary compounds

Deputy Minister of Justice Faisal al-Majidi discussed on Thursday with Deputy Director of Middle East and Europe Department at Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) possible support to Yemen in field of rehabilitating destroyed judiciary compounds and courts in provinces of Abyan, Taiz, Shabwa , Aden, Lahj and others.
The meeting dealt with possible constructing and equipping the buildings of the ministry of justice, the supreme judiciary council, the supreme court and the higher institute for judiciary, and equipping the judiciary printer, constructing the building of information center, making electronic networking system to different judiciary authority's institutions, making judiciary inspection system and documentation and rehabilitating judiciary archiving.
Al-Majidi expressed the ministry's hope of the agency's contribution of equipping documentary sections of courts and training judges, lawyers and students of law in field of compensation issues resulting from the war and internal clashes and training in arbitration, corruption, looted funds, seas law, human rights and other relevant fields.
The Japanese official confirmed readiness of JICA on providing different kinds of support to the ministry of justice in Yemen, especially in training and rehabilitating field.
