[04/10/2018 05:28]

RIAYDH-SABA
Prime Minister Dr Ahmed Obeid Bin-Dagher received Thursday British Ambassador to Yemen Michael Aron.

Developments about situations in our country, topics of common interests and British's role in supporting the Yemeni government to put down the coup were a central focus of Dr Bin-Dagher's conversations with Mr Aron.

Bin-Dagher pointed out to the government's efforts aimed to maintain the value of national currency and normalize situations in the temporary capital Aden.

He also underlined substantial support provided by Saudi-led Arab Coalition, citing the Kingdom's $2 billion deposit in the Central Bank of Yemen, $200 million grant offered by Custodian of Two Holly Mosques, king Salman bin Abdulaziz, besides $2 million per month, royal donation to support electricity sector.

The Prime Minister stated that any efforts to be exerted for peaceful solution to the Yemeni crisis must based on the three terms of reference: GCC's Initiative, its operational plan, outcomes of National Dialogue and UNSCRs resolutions, namely 2216.

He said" Houthi militias have never been seriously seeking for peace because their decision is held hostage by their bakers—Iran, which is gambling upon Yemenis' lives and bloods to extort neighboring countries and international community, desperately seeking for control over Bab-Almandeb to threaten international maritime safety".

The British Ambassador reiterated his government's support for the legitimate Yemeni government, Yemen's security, stability and unity.

He also stated that British government is aware of the Iranian role in supporting Houthis and Iranian spoiler activities in the region.
