NEW YORK-SABA
The final statement issued by Yemen's Conference" Challenges of Political Solution, Humanitarian Action, Re-Establish Stability and Reconstruction" stressed the importance of full commitment to the unity of Yemen, respect its independence and integration of its territories, and supporting the legitimate government headed by President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, rejecting Houthi militia's coup d'état against legitimate authority in Yemen in September 2014.
The Conference organized in New York by the GCC in cooperation with the Yemeni government.
The recommendations stated that the GCC's Initiative, its operational plan, outcomes of the National Dialogue and UNSC resolution 2216 constitutes the framework of any durable political solution.
The participants stressed the importance of supporting the UN's good office in Yemen to reach a political settlement on the basis of the three terms of references.
The final statement urged Houthi militia to engage constructively, with good faith and non preconditions, in the UN's envoy consultations.
