Cabinet discussessouth Yemen riots

In a meeting moderated by Prime Minister Ahmed bin Daghr on Thursday, the Cabinet discussed the protests that developed to riots in some southern Yemen cities.

The Cabinet condemned the riots that hit the temporary capital Aden and the eastern city of Mukalla that erupted after a new devaluationof the national currency and soar of basic commodity prices.

The Cabinet said it appreciates the cause of the protests but asked for a peaceful demonstration of demands. The Cabinet condemned the attempt of some parties to furtherstir the riots. It said it won't allow violent blockage of roads and coercion of businesses to shut down under the name of civil disobedience.

The Cabinet also condemned the insults by some hooligans to the Saudi-led Arab Coalition . It said those insults don't represent the Yemeni peoplewho rather highly appreciate the Saudi and Emirati rush to therescue of Yemen from the Iran-affiliated proxy of Houthis.

The Cabinet also approved a Saudi grant to import a three month worth quantity of fuel to meet fuel shortages in the country at a cost of USD 180 million.

The Cabinet thanked the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for these historical assistances to the Yemeni people.
