RIYADH - SABA
Foreign Minister Khalid Alyemany briefed Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh on the diplomatic efforts the ministry has made to convey the cause of the Yemeni diplomatic missions in conveying the voice the government and the people to the world.
In a meeting they held on Monday, Alyemany recounted the outcomes of his meetings with his counterparts from different
world countries, and the firm international support to the Yemeni state restoration and rejection of the Houthi militia's coup.
The vice president pointed to the major consequences of the Houthi coup; the political, economic, social and security impact of the coup and the threat the militia poses to international shipping and, by extension, international peace and security.
The Vice President reiterated the keenness of the political leadership under the leadership of His Excellency President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi to establish a lasting peace based on the three terms of reference; the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Security Council Resolution 2216.
He pointed out that the battle that the Yemenis are engaged in today with support from the Arab Coalition is a defensive one necessitated by the level of the threat posed by the Houthi militia to the Yemeni authorities and the security of Yemen and the whole region.
