The spokesman of the Arab Coalition backing the Yemeni government, Colonel Turki al-Maliki, said that the continuation of the Iran-backed Houthis in their terrorist attacks on international shipping will cause an environmental and economic disaster that harms the interests of the countries of the region and the world.
In a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he said that the Coalition'scommand conducted in the past days an assessment of all the Houthiterrorist attacks against free shipping in the strait of Bab al-Mandab and the south of the Red Sea, the latest of these attacks targetedone of the Saudi oil tankers.
"The Coalition forces command, in coordination with the international community, have taken all necessary measures to ensure the continued freedom of shipping through the strait of Bab al-Mandab and the South Red Sea in accordance with international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, including resolution 2216," he said.
"The Coalition backing the Yemeni government is continuing its efforts in coordination with the international community" to preserve the regional and international security and contributing to the stability of the global economy."
