Yemen's Ambassador to Beirut Abdullah Addoais met Tuesday with Director of International Organizations, Conferences and Cultural Relations in the Lebanese Foreign and Migrants Ministry Caroline Zyaddah.
Addoais's conversations with Zyadah focused on the bilateral relations between Yemen and Lebanon. They discussed coordination of the two countries' stances in different international stages to serve mutual interests of the two countries.
The Ambassador touched upon the latest developments in Yemen, mainly underway military operation aimed to retake Hodiedah city, seaports and other harbors in the west coast.
He stated that Hodeidah's operation is part of the overall national battle to put down the coup and regain control over all regions that are still controlled by Houthi putschist militia.
Addoais added that the legitimate government has been determined to get the west coast cleared of Houthi militiamen to stop the militia's violations and no longer allow the seaport to be used as a conduit to smuggle Iranian weapons, planting marine mines in the international passageway of Bab Al-Mandeb and threatening international maritime navigation.
The Lebanese official has affirmed her country's support for the legitimate Yemeni government and the UN envoy's good office to achieve peace in Yemen. She made clear that the points of views may be voiced by some Lebanese political forces only express their own and don't express the Lebanese official position.
