The Executive Director of Aden Refineries Company Mohammad al-Bakri has said the outdated and damaged ships the company asked the government to get rid of, have been replaced with two new ships and two withdrawal trucks by the company.

In a statement to Saba, al-Bakri added the two alternative ships are Lulo'atKrater, now docked at Oil Port and Amirat Aden, which is still out of the country since Houthi rebel militia's offensive on Aden City and the company is seeking to regain it in addition to retaking the two trucks;Nour Aden, which entered service in 2012 and Socotra the company received months ago, both provide services to Aden Port.

The company asked the government to get rid of the damaged and wasted ships for the danger they pose to the port and the threat to the navigation pathway leading to Aden International Port, he said, adding the demand has been based on a letter the company received from Aden Gulf Corporation, which held the company responsible on the drown of the ship and the negative effects on navigation activity at Aden Port and Containers Station.

He confirmed that the refinery- within plans to improve and update it- seeks to buy a number of ships and vessels with international specifications.

Al-Bakri valued quick response of the political leadership and the government to the demands of the ship to get rid of these ships.
