Yemen's Ambassador to Cuba Mohamed Saleh Nasher has affirmed that the government and the Arab Coalition are careful to affect civilians as they pursue to liberate the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah from the grip of Houthi militia.

In a meeting with the Head of the Department of North Africa and the Middle East at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, , Héctor Igarza Cabrera, in Havana on Friday, Nasher briefed Cabrera on the developments in the country. He reiterated the government's determination to restore the vital port which the rebel militia have been using to smuggle in Iranian-mad arms, including ballistic missiles. He said that the rebels have been attacking vessels passing in the international shipping routes, planting landmines ubiquitously in the country and seizing humanitarian aid granted by donors for the people that the rebels, through their war, had impoverished.

Cabrera, in return stressed Cuba's stand by Yemen's side in its efforts to end the conflict and achieve peace. He praised the bilateral relations between the two countries.
