Yemen's Ambassador to Malaysia Dr Adel Bahomeid discussed today with the Undersecretary of West Asia Division in the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Datuk Raja Reza, the bilateral relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them in various fields and a number of issues related to the Yemeni community in Malaysia.
On the Yemeni political developments, Bahomied affirmed the government's keenness to achieve peace with Houthi rebels based on the three relevant terms of reference for the sake of saving civilian lives and basic infrastructure from the scourge of war launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia against the Yemeni nation.
He referred to the government's support for the efforts of the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths.
The Malaysian official stressed his country's interest in the security, stability and territorial integrity of Yemen. He reiterated Malaysia's support for the legit government of Yemen, represented by His Excellency President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
