[17/06/2018 06:11]

HODEIDAH-SABA
Yemen's political parties have voiced their support for the Operation Golden Victory that the army is conducting in Hodeidah with backing from the Saudi-led Arab Coalition.

The operation, unleashed on June 13, aims to retake the vital Red Sea port city from the control of the Iran-backed rebels who have used western coast province to admit smuggled arms, threaten international shipping and raise revenues for sustaining their coup and armed insurgency.

The spokesman of the General People's Congress Party in Hodeidah Esam Hibat Allah Shuremi called on all the people of the province to join hands with the army "in driving out the Houthi coupist militia which destroyed the country and plunged it in a sea of blood, tears and hunger."

"Today, Hodeida is being liberated and the dignity of its people is being restored," he said in a statement to Saba.

Similarly the Yemen Congregation for Reform (Islah) party has called on all the people of Hodeidah to raise up in the face of the terrorist militia and to welcome the arriving heroic army warriors. In a statement the party called on the rebels to opt for surrendering themselves and their arms to the army.

Both parties appreciated the help of all the Arab Coalition member states especially Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates who play central roles in supporting the Yemeni army under President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi's leadership.

The parties said the Yemeni people will not forget this brotherly help and history will record it in its brightest pages.
