RIYADH-SABA
Information Minister Muammar al-Eryani said that the liberation of Hodeidah International Airport by the army and popular resistance with Arab Coalition backing is a positive sign for maintaining the progress towards liberating the city and its strategic seaport.
In a statement on Saturday, he said that the liberation of Hodeidah will force the Houthi rebel militia to return to political negotiation of a settlement based on the three terms of reference; The Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue and the UN resolutions on the Yemen crisis.
Under those references, Houthis will have to end the state of coup and hand over arms to the Yemeni state.
The restoration of the seaport, he said, will also be vital for the humanitarian work, launch of reconstruction, payment of public employees' salaries, completing the liberation of the rest of Yemeni territories, and ending the coup.
