President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, along with Prime Minister Ahmed bin-Daghr, Interior Minister Ahmed al-Maysari and senior state officials, performed the Eid al-Fitr prayer in al-Maasheeq mosque in the temporary capital Aden on Friday.
The mosque preacher pointed to the nationwide rejoice of Eid al-Fitr festivity which coincides with dramatic gains that Yemen's army, backed by the Saudi-led Arab Coalition, is achieving with strong support from the UAE to retake the Red Sea port of Hodeidah from the hands of Houthi rebels.
He also pointed to these celebration's coincidence with the third anniversary of the liberation of the temporary capital Aden against the rebels.
"The constitutional legitimacy in our country is the popular legitimacy, the popular election of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi as a president of the country," said the preacher.
"No security or stability will be realized, unless the nation is united under one leadership and one government," he said.
Following the prayer service, Hadi received crowds of people who came forward to exchange good wishes with him on the holy occasion.
