A cargo plane took off from Sayoon airport on Thursday to Socotra Island laden with 30 tons of medical aids provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) in Aden in cooperation and coordination with the Office of Ministry of PublicHealth and Population in Hudramout province.
A medical team from the WHO in Aden was accompanying the medical assistance shipment. General Director of Health Office, in Wadi and Sahra Hudramout, Dr Hani Al-Amoudi told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the UN medical team, who traveled with the medical aids, aimed to make assessment of health situation in the Socotra Archipelagos province.
A technical team from Hudramout also arrived in Socotra. The team, which headed by Eng. Hassan Ghaithan, General Director of Countryside Water in Hudramout, included specialist engineers.
Eng. Ghaithan told (Saba) the team would conduct studies in the affected areas and report about the estimated costs of the projects in water sector which suffered damages.
