Deputy Premier, Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mekhlafi received Tuesday the US ambassador to our country Mathew Tuller
Al-Mekhlafi voiced the Yemeni legitimate government's appreciation for the US administration's principled and supportive stances toward situation in Yemen. He also thanked the American government for supporting the legitimate government and for American clear-cup position about respecting Yemen's sovereignty, independence, unity and its territorial integrity.
The Foreign Minister informed the American ambassador about underway arrangements to operate a medical air bridge the Yemeni government alongside Arab Coalition have been preparing to carry out in cooperation with the UN Office of the UNDP, Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs Liza Grande and other UN's agencies operate in Yemen including the WHO and WFP.
Al-Mekhlafi stated that the legitimate government hope that first flight might be initiated in the first week of Ramadan.
Concerning to the underway efforts aiming to establish peace, he reiterated the government's support to the UN envoy and his good offices that aim to make peace on the three terms of references.
The Foreign Minister stressed that the US administration's decision to move its embassy to Al-Quds is in violation of the International resolutions and it is unhelpful for peace, rather plays into the hands of radicals.
For his part, the American diplomat reiterated his administration's continuous support for the legitimate government until the coup is ended and legal authority reinstated. He also stressed the importance of backing the UN envoy's good offices to make peace.
