War-torn Taiz asserts love of life by marathon running
[13/05/2018 05:36]

TAIZ-SABA
Two hundred young people ran a race in Taiz on Sunday, the first such competition in four years of Houthi war and siege against Yemen's southwestern city since 2015.

Organized by the local office of the Sports Ministry under the slogan "Return of Life", the recreational marathon meant to assert the local people's clinging on to normalizing life in the city which is still besieged by Houthi rebels who invaded the city in early 2015 but were later pushed to the peripheries.

The race course ran from the center of the city to its east, nearly three kilometers.
