Fatah calls on int'l organizations to provide relief aid to Yemen

Minister of Local Administration, the Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Relief Aid Abdul Raqib Fatah has called on the international and Turkish aid organizations to coordinate efforts to help the Yemeni people.

Addressing "Providing Relief for theYemeni People and Strengthening Stability" a workshop held under the auspices of the Committee, the Turkish government and a number of aid organizations in Istanbul, on Sunday, Fatah called on aid organizations to support the decentralization of humanitarian aid by securing representations in the capitals of the six federal regions of Yemen.

He highlighted the importance of moving to the second phase of relief aid work, byfocusing on the provision of urgent short and medium term livelihood opportunities to promote stability in the provinces.

Fatah said the humanitarian problem in Yemen resulted from the coup d'état and insurgencyof the Houthi militia,it was not a natural disaster.

He said that humanitarian situation continues to worsen in Yemen as a result of the militias' continued killing and abuse of people, and rejection of all peace deals and offers.

He stressed that the Committee is prepared to cooperate fully and provide all facilitations for the humanitarian relief organizations working in Yemen. The government welcomes and highly appreciates all efforts to improve the humanitarian situation, and support the legitimate government and help the Yemeni people, he said.
