RIYADH-SABA
President Abd-Rabbo Mansour Hadi received on Sunday the delegation of Belgium Senate headed by Alain Destexhe.
President Hadi discussed with the delegation the situation in Yemen and challenges facing the country, as well as a number of issues and topics of common concern.
He briefed the delegation on peace stages from the beginning of political transfer into the National Dialogue Conference agreed upon by all Yemeni political and social components for solving issues left by former regimes. The national dialogue came out with outcomes agreed upon by all parties and crystalized in the constitutional draft for the new federal Yemen based on justice, equality and good governance, added the President.
But Houthis, he said revolted on this consensus for implementing Iranian agenda for destabilizing Yemen and the security of the region.
He renewed Yemen's firm position supporting just peace on the bases of the three references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Resolution 2216.
He valued the role of Belgium for supporting Yemen in different fields including development and humanitarian, hoping for more active role supporting Yemeni people in these difficult conditions.
For their part, the Belgium delegation expressed their pleasure for the meeting and valued the national role of President Hadi for peace efforts.
They reaffirmed their country's support in humanitarian domains and state support, which reached to USD 12 million last year.
