The embassies of Republic of Yemen and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in Vienna in cooperation with the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna held a seminar about the current situations and challenges in Yemen.

The Yemeni and Saudi ambassadors Ebrahim Shoja'a Addin and Ebrahim Al-Jandan attended the event, along with large audience of Austrian researchers, media men and women as well as many of foreign nationals.

The Yemeni Minister of Information Muamer Al-Iryani gave a word in which he talked about the political situations and grass-root causes which produced the status quo. His word provided an overview on the political transitional process in Yemen that based on the GCC's brokered deal which was strongly backed by the UN. He also explained the legitimate leadership and government's stance and efforts aimed to make peace.

The Info. Minister reiterated that the outcomes of the National Dialogue constituted a foundation for establishing a civil state that can secure all Yemenis' rights and address their concerns. He blamed the Houthi militia for spoiling the political transition process and preventing the government from putting the outcomes of the National Dialogue in place.

The Minister of Public Works and Highways Dr Ma'aeen Abdulmalik contributed to the discussions; citing the government's action-plan at present. He stated that the legitimate government has been working on re-normalizing situations in the government-held regions.

The Saudi ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Sa'aeed al-Jaber has reiterated that the main objective of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition to restore legality in Yemen is to maintain security and stability in Yemen through reinstating the legitimate authority and state's institutions.

For his part, the spokesperson of the Arab Coalition Command Colonel Turki al-Maliki stressed that war wasn't a choice but an urgent necessity to maintain Yemen and Arab national security. He cited Houthi militia military exercise on the borders of the KSA as an example of the militia's existential threat to the region's stability.
