YCMHRV condemns Houthi shelling of ex-child fighter rehab center

The Yemeni Coalition for Monitoring Human Rights Violations (YCMHRV) condemned on Wednesday the Houthi shelling of the headquarters of the center that undertakes rehabilitating child victims of Houthi rebels; ex-child fighters and war-tramatized children in Marib city in eastern Yemen.

The Houthi rebels fired two Katyusha rockets at the center's headquarters on Wednesday the third such attack since the beginning of last April.

In a statement, the YCMHRV said the Houthi rockets hit the front of the center causing severe material damage, and fear and panic amongst children receiving psychological care at the moment.

It condemned the attack as criminal one for it targeted the center deliberately, given that there are no military sites in the center's surroundings and that this is the third such attack on the center; the first was on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at 4 pm, while the second was in the afternoon of April 30, 2018. .

The YCMHRV called on the international community and organizations concerned with the protection and promotion of human rights to condemn and criminalize such acts, hold the Houthis accountable and get them designated a terrorist group.
