Minister of Local Administration, the Chairman of the Supreme Committee for ReliefAid has called on the international community to exert more pressure on Houthirebels to lift the siege they imposed on Taiz, the world's longest siege on a city.

In a statement to Saba, Abdu Alraqib Fatah, said the siege which has passed its 1000-day mark and "entered its fourth year is a real test to the conscience of the world and the impartiality of the international organizations."

"The suffering of Taiz residents requires the OHCHR and all organizations concerned with human rights in the world to take a firm stance stand firmly to get the coupist Houthimilitia to end this unjust siege and ongoing murder of the province's children, women and all civilians."

"The crimes of the militia against the people of Taiz are contrary to all moral and human values," he said.

The continuation of the Houthicrimes in Taiz and else "confirms on a daily basis to the whole world that the Houthi militia is a terrorist group and must be prosecuted in accordance with international law."

He said that what the militia is exercising in its area of control are "war crimes that do not fall under the statute of limitations."

He called on the Humanitarian Coordinator Liza Grande "to visit the Taiz, gather the facts about the Houthicrimes of killing women and children, shelling residential neighborhoods and displacing people thereand to reportthe atrocities to the United Nations Security Council".
