FM received credentials of New Zealand ambassador to Yemen

Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulmalik al-Mikhlafi received on Wednesday credentials of the new New Zealand Ambassador to Yemen Hector Munro.

Al-Mikhlafi confirmed that the government will provide all facilitations to the ambassador to achieve his assignment as non-resident Ambassador to Yemen and working with him for boosting mutual relations.

He praised relations between the two countries and support and coordination exchange in different fields. He also briefed the new ambassador on political situation developments in Yemen.

He clarified that the war in Yemen started by a coup by Houthi-Saleh alliance and stormed Capital Sana'a 2014 on contrary to what some propagate for that the war started by military interference of Saudi-led Coalition. He pointed out that these coupists overthrew the political process and the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference they agreed upon and wage the war, leading military campaign to storm Aden and Taiz cities.

" The Arab Coalition comes {to Yemen} by a demand from the legal government and in accordance with the International law for regaining the state and resuming the political process in Yemen on the bases of references agreed upon internally, regionally and internationally," said al-Mikhlafi.

He pointed out Houthi militia is a group depends on triggering wars for insuring their existence and rejects any track for peace, confirming that the government of Yemen supports the new UN envoy to Yemen as it did with former one.

For his part, the New Zealand diplomat confirmed his country government's support to the government of President Hadi.
He pointed out the government of his country is following up developments in Yemen.
