RIYADH -SABA
Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Mohammed al-Shaddadi discussed today with Canada's non-resident ambassador to Yemen Dennis Horak the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and means of enhancing them.

Al-Shaddadi briefed Horak on the latest developments in Yemen especially the humanitarian suffering caused by the Houthi militia's continuous coup, invasion of cities and insurgency against the internationally recognized government and against the outcomes of the National Dialogue.

He renewed the government's support for the efforts of the UN envoy Martin Griffiths to achieve peace based on the three terms of reference; the GCC Agreement, its executive mechanism and the outcomes of the National Dialogue and the relevant UN Security Council's resolutions including resolution no. 2216.

For his part, the Canadian ambassador reiterated his country's support for the government of President Abd-Rabbu Hadi stressing that he will make every effort to help Yemen get out of the current crisis through ensuring the success of Griffiths' mission and pressuring the rebels to surrender their arms and return to talks.
