FM participates in symposium about international relations during crisises

Deputy Premier, Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mekhlafi participated on Tuesday in the sessions of the symposium about international relations during crisises and disasters.

The gathering organized by the University of Security of Amir Na'ef in cooperation with the International Organization for Civic Protection and Civil Defense and the Geneva University for Diplomatic and International Relations Studies.

Al-Mekhalafi made contribution to the symposium with a working paper about the regional and international cooperation to deal with the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

He explained the humanitarian crisis, challenges facing humanitarian action in Yemen and the necessary practical measures to manage the difficulties facing the relieving operations. He also cited potentials ways to put an end of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, the positive factors that helped mitigating the humanitarian dilemma and the role of International united stance toward the Yemeni crisis.

The Foreign Minister made it clear that the humanitarian crisis in Yemen is a man-made and not a result of natural disaster. " Humanitarian crisis in Yemen is a man-made, it has been caused by the Houthi militia coup d'état s and the war waged by the rebel militia on the Yemeni people", said Al-Mekhlafi.

" The best solution to the humanitarian crisis in Yemen is: ending the coup, resuming dialogue and making peace on the basis of the GCC'-Initiative, its operational mechanism, outcomes of the National Dialogue and International Security Resolutions about the Yemeni crisis, namely 2216",he added.
