PM bin-Daghr inspects power in Aden

Prime Minister Ahmad Obeid bin-Daghr has stressed on finalizing maintenance work of power plants and generators in the transitional capital Aden as soon as possible and before the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.

In his inspection visit to the al-Hoswa Power Plant on Friday, bin-Daghr inspected the maintenance work for the plant, which will enter service in its first phase before the advent of Ramadan, probably three weeks later.

Carried out by more than 250 technicians from local cadre and Ukraine, who work around the clock, the project costs USD 31 million and financed by the government.

In related context, Prime Minister bin-Daghr held a meeting with a number of ministers, Acting Aden Governor and a number of officials in the ministry of electricity and the Public Corporation of Electricity and discussed with them the key challenges facing power and finding quick solutions to increase the output for facing forthcoming hot summer.

He urged concerned officials on shouldering their responsibility to alleviate suffering of the people, confirming that his government will not accept any negligence, especially after it provided full support to generating plants and spent millions of dollars for energy.
