A source in the government has dismissed the story that a Sudanese soldier serving in the Arab Coalition raped a girl in the Red Sea port town of Khowkha, Hodeidah, as mere a smear campaign fabricated by Houthi rebels against the Arab Coalition.
In a statement to Saba, the source said, "The creation and circulation of the lie of the Khowkha girl rape is a desperate attempt by the rebel Houthis to mobilize more fighters after their campaign to recruit new fighters failed."
"The investigations which the local authority in the Khowkha town showed that the circulated story was just a lie to defame the Arab Coalition and serve the goals of the Houthi guerilla."
