Yemen participates in ALO's 54th round in Cairo

The Republic of Yemen participates in the activities of the 54th Round of Arab Labor Organization on Sunday by a delegation headed by Minister of Social Affairs and Labors Dr. Ibtihaj al-Kamal.

Lasting for the 15thof this April with participation of the three production parties, governments, representatives of labors and hirers, the round discusses Arab labor issues, changes in labor markets and resulting challenges, as well as a number of issues like youth increasing numbers and limited job chances.

Minister al-Kamal confirmed keenness of Yemen on active participation in this round despite challenges facing our country over Houthi militia' coup on the state and its institutions. She demanded the organization and different concerned international bodies to take serious position towards Houthi practices- banning salaries and seizing state resources- against labors in their held areas.

For her part, the representative of business sector said Yemen's private sector has suffered huge setback over Houthi coup, confirming that the losses are big and the sector is deteriorating over Houthi control on Sana'a and the Port of Hodeida.

Meanwhile, the representative of the General Union of Yemen's Labors confirmed that more than 3 million labors in the private and unorganized sectors lost their jobs over the war triggered by Houthis on Yemeni people.
