Deputy Premier, Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mekhlafi met Monday evening in Geneva with the UN's envoy to Yemen Martin Griffith.

The meeting focused on the outcomes of Mr Griffith's visit to the capital Sana'a and arrangements for his upcoming trip to the interim capital Aden prior flies to New York to provide the UN Security Council with his first brief on April 17.

Al-Mekhlafi advised Mr Griffith to pay field visits to the cities of Aden and Taiz in order to get first-hand knowledge about the great deal of destruction caused by the militia in the city of Aden and unbreakable humanitarian situation the population of Taiz have been suffering due to the besiege imposed by the militia.

The Foreign Minister reiterated the Yemeni government's full support for the UN's envoy in order to reach peaceful solution based on the three terms of references: outcomes of National Dialogue, GCC's Initiative and UNSCRs, mainly 2216.

For his part, Mr Griffith stated that making peace is primarily the Yemenis' business, however he is going to work out a proposal of comprehensive solution to the Yemeni crisis on the basis of the three terms of references.
