Leaders of the General People's Congress (GPC), the party that served the longest as Yemen's ruling party, haveaffirmed their firm hold and support to the legitimate president of the party and the Republic Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

The leaders of the party's offices in south Yemen announced that during their third annual meeting held in the temporary capital Aden on Thursday under the slogan "Let's Together Consolidate the Legitimacy of President Abd-RabbuHadi the head of the GPC."

The meeting released a final statement whereby the support for Hadiand for "the outcomes of Yemen's National Dialogue Conference" wasreaffirmed. The statement called for "offering an unlimited support to the popular resistance and the Arab Coalition-backed army in all warfronts and for building the state of institutions in all territories retaken from the Houthi rebels."

The party renewed its partnership with the peaceful southern movement and other groups advocating the southern cause in a reasonable way.

The statement condemned Sunday's Houthi missile attack against Saudi populated areas and the spate of assassinations against mosque preachers, government officers and activists in Aden.

"The GPC has gone through numerous challenges, setbacks and frustrations in this context of the country; nevertheless, it will restore its full stake in the political dialogue to come and in designing the country's future ," read the statement.
