Fatah condemns Houthi militia holding 16 relief trucks in Ibb province
[29/03/2018 01:22]
ADEN-SABA
Minister of Local Administration—Chairman of Supreme Relief Committee—Abdulraqeeb Fatah has strongly condemned Houthi militia's holding back 15 trucks laden with humanitarian and relief aids in the entrance of Ibb province.

In statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) Fatah branded the putschist militia illegal practices including denying the humanitarian and relief assistance access to the people in need and establishing outlawed checkpoints in the inlets of the provinces as terrorist acts and inconsistent with all international and humanitarian laws. He held the Houthi militia accountable for further worsening the already catastrophic humanitarian situations in the provinces besieged by the militiamen.

Fatah called on the UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs Lise Grande to condemn such illegal actions and pressure the rebel militia to let the relief shipments go..

The Chairman of Supreme Relief Committee demanded all UN's agencies operating in Yemen to report about the shipments of humanitarian aids the Houthi militia hold and confiscate; most importantly to hold the militia responsible for obstructing the humanitarian action and preventing relief assistance access to the people in need.
