Vice President Ali Mohsen received on Thursday the newly appointed UK Ambassador to Yemen Michel Aaron and discussed with him developments in Yemen and other issues of common concern.
Welcoming the new ambassador, Mohsen praised efforts of former Ambassador Simon Sherckliff and valued support of UK government to Yemen's legality and its rejection to the coup.
He expressed keenness of the legality on achieving permanent peace on the bases of the three references; GCC Initiative and its Implementation Mechanism, outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Resolution 2216. He also expressed support of the political leadership to the new UN Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffith.
Vice President informed the UK diplomat on suffering of the Yemeni people over violations committed by Houthi militia, pointing out to efforts of the legality in normalizing conditions, alleviating suffering of Yemeni people and deterring Iranian agenda threatening the international maritime.
For his part, Aaron expressed pleasure for the meeting and renewed his country's support to legality and support to effortsstopping bloodshed of Yemeni people and ending their suffering.
