Minister of Human Rights Dr. MohmmedAskar met today with the Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights, Kate Gilmoreof the United Nations at the UN headquarters in Geneva.
They discussed the Houthi violations of human rights in the country and the humanitarian situation against the backdrop of the conflict in Yemen.
The discussion cited Houthis' quelling of a peaceful GPC party members rally in Sana'a on Wednesday in remembrance of Ali Abdullah Salehwhom Houthis killed last December after he indicated his willingness to discontinue rebellion and dialogue with the government.
Houthis intimidated the protesters by shooting fire and beat the demonstrating men and women with clubs and stun guns.
