Yemen Says Houthi Militia Poses Direct Threat to Regional Peace, Condemns Attacks on Gulf Infrastructure
Yemen has affirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia poses a direct threat to regional peace and security and to international navigation, saying the group is a tool used to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupt basic services, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

Foreign Minister meets with UK's ambassador to Yemen

Deputy Premier, Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mekhlafi met Wednesday with the United Kingdom (UK) ambassador to our country Michael Aron.

Yemeni-British bilateral ties and issues of common interest were discussed.

Al-Mekhlafi expressed Yemeni government's appreciation for the British supportive stance in supporting the legitimacy in Yemen at both bilateral and the regional levels as well as in various international stages.. Most recent British's support for Yemen came within the International Security Council presidential statement issued on March 15,2018.The Yemeni government has welcomed the statement given that it does sense its responsibility toward every Yemeni national all over the country.

The Foreign Minister stressed the importance of support by all stakeholders to the UN's efforts aiming to make peace in Yemen on the basis of the references agreed on and stipulated in the International Security Council resolutions. He also stressed that it is important to support the UN newly appointed envoy to Yemen Martin Griffith to ensure making his mission successful one.

For his part, the British diplomat has reiterated his country's government support for the Yemeni government in seeking for peace in Yemen and putting an end of the Yemeni peoples' ordeal.
