Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulmalik al-Mikhlafi discussed on Wednesday with Indian Ambassador to Yemen AhmadJaved mutual relations and issues made by Indian party.

Al-Mikhlafi praised relations between the two countries, expressing attitude of the government of Yemen to Indian support and contribution in relief activities in Yemen.

He also highly valued the shipment of 140 tons of medicines to be shipped soon to Yemen and providing other aid for fighting cholera and praised the government of India for releasing Yemeni fishermen the sea swept them to Indian coasts.

Al-Mikhlafi reviewed political situations in Yemen, making it clear that the government is committed to peace based on the three peace pillars agreed upon locally and internationally; the GCC Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN related resolutions led by Resolution 2216.

He pointed out that Houthi militia's stubbornness is the key problem facing peace process in Yemen and their rejection to all peace initiatives, as well as Iranian support to the militia with funds and weapons.

He pointed out that the national army is beating Houthi militia in different warfronts.

Minister al-Mikhlafi reminded the Indian Diplomat with his meetings with Indian foreign minister and their agreement on finalizing Mareb Gas Power Plant 2, pointing out that the security situation in Mareb is safe and the company can return for resuming its work.

He confirmed government's keenness of Indian contribution in reconstruction in Yemen.

He also reminded him that they agreed on rising scholarships to 52 annually and facilitating procedures of granting residences to Yemeni students and facilitations of getting visas to India.

For his part, the Indian Ambassador confirmed his country's support to the government of Yemen and persistenceof sending relief aid to Yemen.

He also confirmed following up agreements the two foreign ministers singed in 2017.
