Fatah denounces Houhi militia abduction of UN's agencies workers

Minister of Local Administration—Chairman of Supreme Relief Committee—Abdulraqeeb Fatah has strongly condemned Houthi rebel militia abduction of workers of the international organizations, and creating obstructions to the UN's relief organizations in Yemen.

In statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) Fatah described the Houthi militia kidnapping 2 UN's workers and one more worker by the end of last month as a crime under international and humanitarian laws, holding the militia accountable for obstructing the humanitarian actions in the regions they control.

Fatah called on the UN Coordinator for the Humanitarian Affairs and the Acting Coordinator for Relief and Humanitarian Actions in Yemen to move immediately to release the UN's workers.

Fatah also asked the Secretary General of the UN to condemn such savage actions the militia has been carrying out against the international humanitarian organizations.

" Houthi rebel militia's interference and vulgar acts have further exacerbated the populations suffering and obstruct humanitarian aids access to many Yemeni regions, particularly in the militia-held provinces", said Fatah.

The Minister stated that it happened earlier that the militia committed repeatedly violations against the workers of the international relief organizations," they abducted the workers of the Refugees Council in Hodeida and shut down offices of organizations in Ibb", Fatah cited.
