Arab Coalition spokesperson confirms support for new international envoy to Yemen

The spokesperson of the Arab Coalition Forces Colonel Turki Al-Maliki, has welcomed the appointment of Martin Griffiths a new UN special envoy for Yemen in succession of Ismail OuldCheikhwho had just finished his mission.

In a press conference in Riyadh on Wednesday, al-Maliki wished the new UN envoy to Yemen success. He said the Coalition also welcomes the opening of the envoy's office in Yemen's temporary capital Aden.

He appreciated OuldCheikh's exerted efforts and attempts towardbrokering peace which the armed Houthi militias obstruct by their intransigence and indifference to the UN resolutions.

He called on all UN and non-government organizations dealing with the Yemeni affairs to follow suit in relocating to Aden, just in accordance with Paragraph II of Article 41 of the Vienna Agreement on Diplomatic Relations .

Al-Malkistressed the importance of forcing the rebel militia in Sana'a to comply with the UNresolutions as well as the three references for solution in Yemen.

He welcomed,with some reservations, the final report submitted by the UN experts team affiliated to the Sanctions Committee on Yemen.

He lauded the internationally displayed evidenceof Iran's involvement of in supporting terrorist organizations, including Houthis, with weapons such as ballistic missiles, drone planes, speed boats, and landmines.
