RIYADH-SABA

Deputy Premier, Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mikhlafi met Tuesday with the Italian special envoy to Yemen Gianfranco Betrotcela.

Topics of common interests and developments in Yemen were discussed.

The Foreign Minister touched upon bilateral coordination and cooperation between Yemen and Italy and through the European Union as well.

Al-Mikhlafi appreciated the Italian Foreign Ministry's interest in training the new Yemeni diplomats cadres in the Yemeni Foreign Ministry.

The Italian official talked about his country's government concerns about the increasingly worsening humanitarian situations in Yemen.

Italian diplomat also confirmed that his government is willing to continue training programs for the Yemeni Foreign Ministry's staff, noting that the Italian government is considering now resuming academic scholarships for Yemeni students.
