FM receives credentials of new UK Ambassador to Yemen

RIYADH-SABA
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulmalik al-Mikhlafi received on Monday Michael Aaron, who handed the minister his credential as Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Yemen.

Al-Mikhlafi welcomed the new UK ambassador confirming that his experience in the region will help boosting good relations between the two countries. He praised efforts of the former two ambassadors in boosting relationship between the two countries and for supporting the UN envoy's efforts to Yemen.

Al-Mikhlafi confirmed that the new ambassador will get full support from his ministry and all other government's institutions for performing his mission as demanded.

He renewed maintaining of Yemen's legality of peace choice that is based on the three peace references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN related resolution, specifically Resolution 2216.

For his part, the UK diplomat thanked Minister al-Mikhlafi for generous welcome and keenness on easing his duty as ambassador to Yemen, pointing out that his appointment came after summoning his successor by UK government and careof the government with Yemeni situation.

He confirmed support of his country to the government of Yemen and supporting peace efforts based on the three internationally agreed upon references.
