The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) said the Houthis killed and injured 2917 civilians in Yemen's central Taiz province during the year 2017.
The statement which the Taiz-based NGO issued on Wednesday covers the toll of casualties that occurred during the year.
The statement said that 929 civilians including 134 children and 55 women were killed, and 1988 civilians including 156 children and 58 women were injured at the hands of the radical rebel militia.
The Iran-backed rebels incurred this toll in indiscriminate shelling, sniper shooting, landmines and time bombs.
The HRITC said the militia abducted 155persons and put 40 into forced disappearance 40 and tortured to death five of those 40.
The militia displaced 2712 families or 11564 civilians by their heavy shelling on villages. Once the families left, the militia occupied their villages and turned them to military posts or turned them into landmine fields.
The HRITC documented 56 damaged properties, 34 of them partially and 15 completely.
