In an address to top brass security officials attending the Interior Ministry's annual ceremony in Aden on Wednesday, Prime Minister Ahmed bin Daghr said "we should not forget that we are in a state of war against a barbaric enemy." He was referring to the radical Houthi rebels. "(It is) an enemy who, in hostility, does not discriminate between a northerner or a southerner, does not know the meaning of nationalism ... did not stop at Hashed or Amran but overran Sana'a, then Taiz, Ibb and Dhamar" provinces.

"Then the guerilla invaded Aden and destroyed everything and killed indiscriminately. If there had been no brotherly rush to Yemen's rescue by King Salman's Decisive Storm, we would have been in a different situation."

He addressed the national warriors who defended Aden during the Houthi invasion by saying: "Aden accommodates us all regardless of our political, regional or sectarian affiliations."

He promised that the Houthi rebel militia would be driven out from the rest of the cities and the state of law and order would be restored.
